Public Holidays in Saudi Arabia for 2014

Planning your vacation or government related works like visit visa renewal requires knowledge of public holidays.

The main public holidays in Saudi Arabia are as follows:

1. Eid Al-Fitr Holidays The government sector has holidays for 7 to 10 days. It starts 2 -3 days before the end of Ramadan. For the private sector it is usually for 4-5 days and may start a day before the end of Ramadan. It depends from company to company.

21st July, 2014 will be last working day for most government offices. People who require government services are advised to do so before this date.

2. Eid ul Adha Holidays Like Eid ul Fitr holidays, these holidays are also for 7 to 10 days for government sector and 3-4 days for private sector. The main day of festival is on 10 of Dhul Hijjah of Arabic calendar.For 2014, this falls on 4th October (plus or minus 1 day).

25th September, 2014 will be the last working day for most government offices.

3. National Day It is celebrated on 23rd September. One day holiday is compulsory for both government and private sector. It can be extended to 2 or 3 days as per announcement by government at the last moment.
