Abu Dhabi to have its first Hindu Temple worth 400 million

The first-ever Hindu temple planned for Abu Dhabi will come up in a 14-acre land by 2020 with seven towers representing the seven emirates in the UAE, officials have disclosed.

The temple on 55,000 square metres of land will come up near Al Rahba off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway.

The ceremony for inauguration of the temple was overseen by the Indian Prime Minister who was in Dubai while attending a community event in Dubai Opera.

The Abu Dhabi government has allotted about 14 acres.

The temple itself is expected to cover about five acres of land.

It shall also include a visitors’ centre, prayer halls, exhibitions, learning areas, sports area for children and youths, thematic gardens, water features, a food court, a books and gift shop and other facilities.

The Abu Dhabi temple is expected to have a magnificent architectural structure like the other Akshardham temples. It will have seven towers representing seven emirates.

Abu Dhabi is a home to over three million people of Indian origin.

The temple will be completed by 2020.

The Indian Prime Minister Modi thanked the crown prince of Abu Dhabi for allotting the land for the temple and said that the temple would send the message of unity to all.
